Gospel Reflection for the Second Sunday of Lent

By Sr. Marites N. Perez, SJBP

Pastoral Associate, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral

Chalan Kanoa, Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands

From the Mountain to the Cross: A Reflection for the Second Sunday of Lent The Diocese of Chalan Kanoa presents a spiritual reflection for the Second Sunday of Lent by Sr. Marites N. Perez, SJBP, Pastoral Associate of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral.

In this Sunday’s Gospel (Matthew 17:1-9), we journey with Peter, James, and John to the mountain of the Transfiguration. Sr. Marites invites us to contemplate the “dazzling white” glory of Christ, not just as a display of power, but as a vital revelation of our own path as disciples.

“Renewing our life means surrendering to Jesus’ transformative power.”

As we continue our Lenten journey, let us ask for the grace to be transfigured, becoming more like Christ in our daily lives and keeping our eyes fixed on Him.
