Gospel Reflection for the Third Sunday of Lent By Deacon Roger A. Dris

Encountering the Living Water

In this video reflection for the 3rd Sunday of Lent (March 08, 2026), Deacon Roger A. Dris of San Roque Parish invites us to journey to the well with the Samaritan woman. Deacon Roger highlights the profound glory of meeting Jesus face-to-face.

He reminds us that while the woman was initially hesitant, her encounter with the Messiah serves as a powerful call for us to:

• Assess and Cleanse: Use this Lenten season to examine our souls and seek forgiveness for past wrongdoings.

• Universal Love: Break down the barriers of race and background to share the “bucket of water”—the love and salvation of Christ—with one another.

• Deepen our Knowledge: Just as Jesus revealed Himself to the woman, He seeks to reveal His power and presence in our lives today, especially in times of difficulty.

Join us as we reflect on how to open our hearts, let God rule our souls, and become worthy of the graces He has prepared for us. “Jesus will always reveal Himself to us to let us know that He is always within us.” May God bless you all on this Lenten journey!
