Sta. Remedios Parish hosted Hospitality Sunday

A huge crowd turned out last Sunday, January 20, 2019 in the village of Tanapag for the hospitality program organized by the Legion of Mary Nuestra Senora Bithen De Los Remedios Praesidum.  The event started promptly after the 8:00 A.M. Mass and featured free haircuts as well as health screenings to community members in attendance.   “This is a great project,” said Claire who came with her family.  A resident from Tanapag expressed her excitement as she lined up for a flu shot, blood sugar test and blood pressure test.

This is the third hospitality program organized by the same group according to Julie Cunanan, coordinator of the Legion of Mary.  Fr. Leo Neil Casas Bullos, OAR expressed his appreciation to the group for this initiative.  Volunteers for the event included healthcare providers such as Hardt Eye & Diabetes Education Center, Northern Marianas College Nursing Club, Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation-Division of Public Health-Immunization Program, HIV/STD Prevention Program, Non-Communicable Disease Bureau, and Comprehensive Cancer Control Program.  Also lending their support is Saipan Fil-American Lions Club headed by their president Anna Mae Adaza and event director Ernie Molina. The help and support of Mr. William Lieto and Tanapag Parish Council are also recognized.

The hairdresser teams are from Genoveva’s Hair Power Inc., Jigz Barber Shop & Beauty Salon and Manila de Salon, Free food was provided by Shirley’s Coffee Shop, D’ Elegance Restaurant, Jhems Restaurant, Sunny Side Café & Bakery, Gold Ribbon Bakeshop & Restaurant, Barney’s Pizza & Catering Services, Shirley’s Catering, MJ Catering, Blue Haus, Seaside Mart, Mr. and Mrs. Angelita Buniag, Mr. and Mrs. Luis Kapileo, and Neth Romero.  Other sponsors are Saipan Ice & Water and Kautz Glass.
