The Diocese of Chalan Kanoa gathered the faithful for a Holy Hour for Peace in the Middle East on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cathedral, marking a solemn and prayerful evening of Eucharistic devotion and intercession for peace in a troubled world.
The celebration began at 6:00 p.m. with the Holy Eucharist, presided by Most Rev. Romeo D. Convocar, Bishop of Chalan Kanoa, and concelebrated by the clergy of the diocese. United in prayer on this profound feast commemorating the Incarnation of Christ, the clergy and faithful lifted intentions for healing, reconciliation, and hope amid ongoing conflict.
Following the Mass, the community entered into a Holy Hour, centered on Eucharistic Adoration under the theme “Adoration: A Beacon of Hope for a Troubled World.” The Holy Hour included the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, moments of silent prayer, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, the Divine Praises, and concluded with Reposition.
The gathering reflected a deep spirit of reverence and unity, echoing the words of St. Padre Pio: “A thousand years of enjoying human glory is not worth even an hour spent sweetly communing with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.” Through prayer before the Eucharistic Lord on the Solemnity of the Annunciation, the faithful were invited to become instruments of peace and bearers of hope for the world.
